Booking a Disney World package just means purchasing your room and tickets together in one package. 

You can also add a Dining Plan to your room-only reservation which qualifies it as a package. 

The main difference between a package and a room-only reservation is the cancellation policy. 

Currently, the period to cancel and get a full refund on a room-only reservation at a Disney World resort is up to five days before check-in. 

Note that this will change to eight days before check-in starting January 1st, 2025. 

When you book a package, you can get a full refund if you cancel up to 30 days before check-in. 

So packages come with a more stringent cancellation policy which is something to be aware of. 

Disney World Vacation Packages 2025: Get the best availability

Certain rooms at Disney World resorts are always in high demand. These include:

• Affordable rooms that sleep five people
• Rooms closest to amenities or with the best views (Preferred room categories)
• The most in-demand resorts during peak travel times (eg Polynesian during Christmas, Boardwalk during Food & Wine Festival)

It’s a great idea to book as soon as possible to get the best availability and your pick of resorts for Disney World vacation packages in 2025.
