An overview of the four best Hyatt hotels near Disney World that you can stay at totally for free with points.

While I usually try to stay at Disney-owned resorts on my regular visits to Walt Disney World in Florida, I often find myself at nearby Hyatt hotels for a night.
Why? Because I can stay at any of these hotels for free with points I earn from my favorite travel rewards card.
You’ll even get the resort fee waived at these resorts when you book with points, making these stays completely free!
I cut down on the overall cost of my Disney World trip by staying at one of these hotels on my arrival or departure night when I can’t take full advantage of my Disney resort benefits anyway.
I’ve stayed at almost every Hyatt in the Orlando area and here are the four best choices for a Disney World vacation.
Best Hyatt Near Disney World: Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress

My family’s favorite Hyatt near Disney World is definitely the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress.
It is a full-service resort located close to Disney Springs. We absolutely love the huge pool complex with twelve waterfalls and the resort activities here – all included for free when you stay on points!

The setup in rooms with two beds is a bit unusual. Though the website says the rooms have two double beds (aka full beds) in fact there is one queen bed and one double bed plus a lounge chair that is almost the size of a twin bed.
This is a relief for adults who don’t want to try to squeeze into a double bed (a queen is tight enough LOL). There are also rooms with a king bed.

I transfer Chase Ultimate Reward points (that I earn from everyday spending on my favorite travel rewards card, my Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card) directly into my World of Hyatt account and stay here for as low as 12,000 points. For perspective, that’s equivalent to $120 if you redeemed these points for statement credit. 😳
But since stays at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress easily top $300 per night when booked with cash, you’ll get insane value from your points.
Normally there is a $50 per night resort fee to cover these, but the fee is waived on stays booked with points (making this an even better deal).

We are pool people so the swim through grotto, splash pad, two hot tubs, and waterslide are a highlight. There are also TONS of resort activities included with your stay – bike, boat, kayak and SUP rentals, a climbing wall, and miniature golf are a few examples.

There are excellent (though pricey) restaurants on the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress property, so you’ll have lots of options if you spend a day there.
Parking is the only downside of this resort. It is pretty far away from the main building and in theory you’ll be charged $37 per night to park a vehicle here – but in practice I have never been charged. I have also not been charged parking fees when staying with points at other Hyatts, but I always expect the fee and am pleasantly surprised if I don’t get charged (your mileage may vary, as they say).
They offer a “free shuttle to the parks” but the times were not practical AT ALL. I suggest either having a car here or using Uber or Lyft to get to the parks.
Hyatt Place Lake Buena Vista

Our second favorite Hyatt hotel in Orlando is the Hyatt Place Lake Buena Vista, which is also located close to Disney Springs and is walking distance to the Grand Cypress.
We love Hyatt Places in general because they generally have rooms that sleep up to six people and offer a free breakfast buffet – both incredible perks for larger families!

Here’s a peek at our room at the Hyatt Place Lake Buena Vista – it had two comfortable queen beds plus a couch that pulled out into a full bed.

You’ll get an excellent free breakfast for everyone in your room here as well – we liked the pastries, eggs, and fruit.

There’s a small pool behind the hotel (the hot tub wasn’t working during our stay) which will make do but is nothing like the pool down the street at the Grand Cypress.
It is possible to stay here for as little as 6500 Hyatt points per night during many months of the year:

If you didn’t transfer these points to Hyatt you’d only get $65 worth of value from them! Instead use them to stay in a nice hotel and get breakfast for your whole family.
In theory parking should cost ~$18 per night, but I have not been charged when staying here on points.

Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport

Another Hyatt in Orlando we have stayed at many times is the Hyatt Regency inside the Orlando International Aiport (MCO).
Yep, this hotel is physically inside the airport – you step into an elevator in the hotel lobby and step out right in front of TSA security lines!

Obviously you can’t beat staying in the airport if you have an early departure or late arrival.

The rooms aren’t remarkable in any way and have either two queens or one king bed. There is a pool on the roof but I have never been to it since I am usually just crashing here at the beginning or end of my trip.

Some of the rooms actually open up into the atrium of the airport, though I’ve never stayed in one of these rooms. My balcony has always opened out onto the runway, which is kind of fun for watching planes take off and land.
This hotel has recently changed categories and now starts at 17,000 Hyatt points per night. I’m not sure if I’ll be staying there again at the new higher cost, but if you have the points and a 6 am flight, I say go for it and book a night here.

Hyatt Regency Orlando

The last of my picks for the best Hyatt near Disney World is the Hyatt Regency Orlando. It is the farthest from Disney property but is located next to the convention center and close to Universal, making a good choice if you are going to either of these places.
It has a fun pool complex with a long waterslide, waterfalls, and great (but pricey) poolside food.

The rooms are very similar to other Hyatt Regencies, with two queen or one king bed.
The bathroom was particularly nice at this resort – there was a TV built into the bathroom mirror, which wowed my daughter! She watched a baseball game while taking her bath LOL – it’s a funny memory she has.

Nights start at 12,000 points here, there is a $48 nightly resort fee (waived when booked with points), and a $38 per night self parking fee.

I hope this post opened your eyes to all of the excellent opportunities to stay near Disney World for free with Hyatt points.
