Undercover tourist customer service advised us poorly and will now cost us nearly $700 extra. Our original purchase of 11 tickets at the Disney parks had a locked in price with last year‘s pricing. After reconsidering we called back several times attempting to upgrade to a larger number of days in the Disney parks. They suggested that we cancel our original order and re-purchase in the next few days. What they failed to mention was they had no more inventory of tickets for last year‘s prices. As a result we are going to spend nearly $700 more to have the same ticket that was originally bought. All prices at the Disney parks have gone up and they did not look at their inventory when they told us to cancel our tickets. After speaking to management, they were completely unwilling to help us out. I think you’re better off working with Disney themselves. These third-party companies don’t care about the customer like Disney does. At least that’s the impression they have given us so far. I have asked to speak to upper management about the situation and how we were advised poorly in the situation. they are very reluctant to help us. They did, however acknowledge after my conversation that it would’ve been better to keep my original purchase and make an additional purchase before canceling my order just to make sure inventory could supply the ticket that we wanted. There was an acknowledgment that they made a mistake, but too bad for us.

If renting through DVC do you get travel insurance? It says you can't cancel so the next best thing is travel insurance, correct? I know there's a vendor on their site but I've never used travel insurance so I'm not sure how to go about it.

Hi Kristin! Yes, you can get travel insurance and the easiest thing is probably to go through the provider on their site. Just be sure to read the exclusions carefully before you purchase to make sure it will cover what you want. :)
